BWC220 Explicit Business Writing
BWC220 Explicit Business Writing, teaches the competencies in the best practices presented in the book, Explicit Business Writing: Best Practices for the Twenty-First Century. Explicit business writing creates e-mail, memos, letters, and reports that communicate with 100 percent accuracy to 100 percent of the readers 100 percent of the time.

The course contains five competency examinations to evaluate competence in the best practices as the student learns them. The course is instructor led, meaning the instructor is available for coaching and evaluates all of the competency examinations.

This course is designed for students who are able to read the text, ask the instructor questions for coaching when they don't understand a skill, and proceed through the course more quickly. The BWC225 course (described below) requires much more work in completing practice exercises and competency examinations.

Since BWC220 is competency based, the student must demonstrate mastery of the skills in each competency examination. If a competency is not demonstrated, the instructor will coach the student as much as necessary and the student must demonstrate competence in another examination.

By the end of the course, the student will have demonstrated competence in all of the best practices in the book. Tuition is $295. The course begins as soon as the student registers. You may register for the course by filling out the registration form.

BWC225 Explicit Business Writing
with Additional Training

BWC225 Explicit Business Writing with Additional Training is a comprehensive, in-depth, competency-based, online training course teaching students the best practices explained in the book, Explicit Business Writing: Best Practices for the Twenty-First Century.

It teaches to a level of mastery all the best practices that business-writing professionals now know create explicit e-mail, memos, letters, and reports. It is competency based, so the instructor coaches the student through every best practice until he or she is able to perform all of the skills at a professional level of competence.

The training is sufficiently thorough that graduates are able to edit others' work and teach the principles. As such, it is suitable for training trainers. We know of no other training program in business writing that teaches these best practices and no other that teaches any business writing skills to a mastery level of competence. The training materials are available for use by professors in their classes and corporate trainers in their in-house training.

The instructor is R. Craig Hogan, Ph.D., author of the book, Explicit Business Writing: Best Practices for the Twenty-First Century. Each student receives a free copy of the book. The course contains 39 activities and 17 competency examination writing samples that Dr. Hogan and his teaching assistants evaluate. As such, it requires the amount of work expected in a three-credit-hour college course.

Enrollment is limited depending on Dr. Hogan's availability.

Tuition is $595. You may register for the course by filling out the registration form.
